Why Do Boys Like Playing with Remote Control Cars?

The choice of gender-specific toys is a cultural value. Boys prefer to play with cars because cars are masculine. However, research from Texas A&M University and City University in London found that choosing toys is not ogrnly a cultural value, but also biological.

Hormones play an important role in this. The testosterone hormone in boys makes them prefer masculine toys such as remote control cars. Meanwhile, research from a psychologist explains that boys prefer cars because boys have better spatial and navigational skills than girls. By playing with cars, boys will develop these navigational skills.

How to Teach Children about Traffic While Playing Remote Control Cars?

Many boys consider the road as an adventure for them. When driving a remote control car, they do not understand the rules on the road. Even though it is a replica of the road, children should still be taught about traffic rules. It will be knowledge for them that can be applied in real life.

You can do the following ways to teach children about road and traffic safety.

  • Explain to children about the traffic environment. Road sets can be the best example to explain this.
  • Explain to children about the various signs and traffic lights.
  • Explain to them about the sidewalks and areas for driving.
  • Ask children to drive the remote car carefully (not at high speed).

To explain traffic safety to children, you need a road for cars. With a road for cars, you can more easily explain about the traffic environment and children also find it easier to understand your instructions.
